The Redemption Of Jesus' Cross (1 Peter 2:24-25)

Pastor Justin Pratt, April 13, 2014
Part of the From Redemption to the Resurrection series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

This morning Pastor Justin began a two-part Easter series titles From Redemption to the Resurrection. Part 1, The Redemption of Jesus' Cross, looks at the death of our Savior and what it means for us as believers.

There are many facets of the Cross. But they all lead to the Resurrection. So which is more important? His death? Or His resurrection? Without the Resurrection, Jesus is just a dead man in the grave. But, without the Redemption of the cross, then His resurrection doesn't really do anything.

1 Peter 2:24-25

24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls. (KJV)
