Christmas Gives us Reason to Rejoice (Luke 2:8-11, John 15:11)

Pastor Justin Pratt, December 27, 2015
Part of the The Magic of Christmas series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

As we put the finishing touches on another Christmas season we begin looking forward to New Years Day and what the next year may bring. But why stop celebrating Christmas so quickly? The birth of our Savior is something worthy of celebrating year-round, not just one week a year.

One the same note, this morning we continued with part 3 of our Christmas series, The Magic of Christmas. This morning Pastor Justin shows us that Christmas gives us a reason to rejoice. The birth of our Savior is the very definition of joy!

Even as He faced his own death, Jesus Himself reminds us that our joy is to remain full! But how? How can we have a life full of joy? Jesus said it was "These things" (John 15:11) that lead to a life of Joy. But what are "these things?" Listen as Pastor Justin shows us...

8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (KJV)

John 15:11

11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. (KJV)
