Filtering Your Prayer by Requesting God's Will (Luke 11:1, Matthew 6:9-13)

Bro. Mike Meade, April 15, 2018
Part of the Prayer 101: Learning to Talk to God series, preached at a Sunday Evening service

Tonight we continue our series on Prayer 101: Learning to Talk to God by taking a look at Filtering Your Prayer by Requesting God's Will.

But before we can learn to do this, we must examine the request being made. Before we ever take our needs to God, we must first pray that God's Will be done.

Are you praying and praying and praying by failing to see results? Are you making sure that you filter your prayers through God's Will?

Luke 11:1

1And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. (KJV)

Matthew 6:9-13

9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11Give us this day our daily bread. 12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (KJV)
